We have had a very busy academic year so far with lots of projects that tie in with the QCA from units 1 to 6. Unit 1B Playgrounds Unit 3A Packaging Unit 3D Photo Frames Unit 4A Money Containers Unit 4C & 4E Torches Unit 4D Burglar Alarms Unit 6A Shelters Unit 6C Fairgrounds Unit 6D Controllable vehicles In addition we have numerous transitional ideas. To give you some ideas for September onwards we have put together a project newsletter that shows what is on offer. The newsletter can be accessed via Iwisch. Iwisch is part of the WBC Intranet site that is solely for schools and contains mail items previously distributed via the envopak. If your school office is unable to access Iwisch the please contact the education postroom on 666 4232 We are also intending to run insets before the end of term on Unit 1A Moving Pictures and Unit 5C Moving Toys. All details will be posted onto Iwisch as well as on our website. |

| F1 Challenge in Schools | ||

Our staff are accredited trainers in Prodesktop and can assist in inset or lesson delivery or just help out with your designs. The centre also has specialised manufacturing machinery as well as wind tunnel software for testing aerodynamics. We also have a reace track system that can be used by Wirral schools for testing their cars. |

| Free Immersive Software for Wirral Pupils | ||

WestWirralWorks together with the other Wirral CLC's have beome an authorisd training centre for Immersive Education. This allows us to distribute the software free to Wrral Pupils. The agree ment also allows the CLC to offer the software to schools at a discounted price. The CLC's can also offer support and training to schools on the use of the software. | |

WestWirralWorks is an accredited training centre for Pro Desktop and is able to provide full training and certification. Once certified teachers can apply for a site licence for their school. | |
| ArtCam and Speedstep Accredited Training Centre | ||
|
Artcam is 2.5D software that allows images to be embossed and debossed. The software is commonly used in the sign and jewellery industries. With artcam different colors in the image can be raised of lowered to create a 2.5D profile of the original image that can then be milled or routed. Speedstep is ised by the fashion industry to design different clothing styles and fabrc patterns. The software allows patterns to be applied to differnt photos thus giving a realistic representation of a finished product. The patterns can be outputed to a sublimation printer so they can be transferred to fabric. |
